Orders
Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order with Brogan & Bailey Ltd, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
Quotations
Quotes are valid for 30 days and may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as material cost increases or significant changes to the project scope.
Surveys
Accurate measurements are essential for a successful installation. Quotes based on customer-supplied measurements are estimates only. Brogan & Bailey reserves the right to remeasure at an additional cost if required.
Order Confirmation
A written order confirmation will be issued upon receipt of the order and a non-refundable 50% deposit.
Product modifications are only possible if production has not commenced. Please confirm at the time of request. Once production begins, no changes can be made, and customers remain responsible for the original order.
Shutter lead time is approximately 12–14 weeks from payment and order confirmation.
Shutters & Warranty
Our Austin, Dulwich, and Newport shutters include:
- 10-year product warranty
- 5-year colour fastness guarantee
- 1-year hardware warranty
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear. We may, at our discretion, repair or replace warrantable defects upon inspection.
All shutters are handmade; natural variations such as knots, grain patterns, or slight light gaps between louvers are not considered defects. Shutters are not blackout solutions.
Colour Matching
Colours may vary slightly between dye batches. To reduce discrepancies, shutters for the same installation will be ordered together. Follow-up or replacement orders may show slight tone variations and are not guaranteed to be an exact match.
Blackout Limitations
Plantation shutters are not blackout products. Light leakage around panels and moving parts is standard. Variations in extrusion and material movement may cause irregular light patterns when backlit.
Blade Closure & Light Bleed
Due to handmade finishing and extrusion variances, light bleed may occur between closed blades. This is standard and evaluated using a 4–6mm blade spacing.
Oversized Panels
Panels exceeding recommended width/drop or having a width greater than a short drop (under 900mm) are considered oversized. These may be prone to warping, hinge stress, paint fractures, and operational issues over time. Such issues are not covered under warranty.
Supply & Installation
Customers will be notified when goods arrive in our UK warehouse to arrange installation within 4 weeks. Final payment is due before installation.
Customers must provide safe, unobstructed access.
Installation dates are estimates and subject to change.
Our fitters work with care, but minor scuffs or marks may occur. Re-decoration is not included unless damage is due to negligence.
Customers must inspect shutters upon completion and report any defects immediately.
Liability
Brogan & Bailey is not liable for damage arising from circumstances beyond our control.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes will first be addressed through negotiation between parties.
Cancellations & Refunds
Orders cannot be cancelled once submitted, as shutters are bespoke. Faulty or damaged items will be replaced – not refunded. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Payment Terms
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to confirm your order. The balance is due prior to installation. Full payment is also accepted at the time of order.
We accept bank transfers and card payments. A 1.5% surcharge applies to all card transactions.
